Introduction to Mindfulness 4-week course

What is mindfulness? How does it apply to my everyday life as someone living in London? How can a group support me in my practice? All good questions! Join us for this 4-week introductory course to explore the principles, teachings and practices of mindfulness, adapted and expanded from the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD. 

 

This course will help you to improve your relationship to adversity, yourself and those around you. Mindfulness is backed by rigorous scientific studies, showing that it increases neuroplasticity (or flexibility) in the brain - enabling you to create new pathways wired for greater calm, balance and compassion. 

 

Over the 4 weeks, we will explore awareness of the present moment, shifting perspectives, self-inquiry, mindful movement, mindful communication (pairs work and group sharing) and more. Whether you are completely new to mindfulness, or would like to take your solo practice further with the support of a group, you are very welcome to join.

Mindfulness Meditation Drop-in

A 45-minute drop-in class perfect for giving yourself a calming lunch break. We will explore different mindfulness teachings and practices, including the breath, body, sound and open awareness. This class will support you in cultivating mindfulness - or non-judgemental awareness - bringing greater calm and balance to your nervous system, and enabling a clearer mind in your daily life. 

Meditation in Motion

Every other Tuesday 13:30 - 14:15

A 45-minute drop-in class to explore what being in wise and loving relationship to our body means. How can we better listen to what it’s trying to tell us and what we need? We will use non-judgemental awareness, the breath and movement (gentle stretch, mindful walking, shaking) to notice and move through any resistance or tension. The type of movements will be tailored to the unique needs of the group each week.

Mindful Communication

Every other Tuesday 13:30 - 14:15

A 45-minute drop-in class exploring the stress and joy that comes from our relationships with one another. They say “communication is key” - but what does that mean in practice? Were we ever taught how to listen deeply, speak truthfully and drop judgement? Come to this weekly class to explore what mindful communication means and how to create more meaningful connections with the people around you.
